I made this cartoonish series so that people can remember the personality of their companion animal. Most artists offer realistic portraits, but what if years later you won't remember important parts about your animal's life? What treats they loved? What activities they enjoyed? My paintings aim to capture their essence and help me make an important point in animal advocacy (read below)
Artwork purpose
For centuries, animals were perceived like objects with no feelings or needs. This artwork series moves beyond the concept of animals as property and challengers viewers to see animals as individuals deserving right to welfare, care and respect.
Artwork mission
First, to document the unique preferences, behaviors, and favorite items of each individual; and second, to present them together in the gallery, using comparison as the central argument for their individuality
The Gallery of Individuals
